The time is now to give back, to get involved, and to gain the personal rewards and satisfaction that only come from volunteering in fire and emergency services in your hometown.

We are 100% volunteer and self-supporting Fire Department (Allegheny County Station 270). and we are proud to serve the community of South Park Township.

We are Located in South Park Township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, a mostly residential community, we are approximately 11 miles south of the City of Pittsburgh, PA.

Firefighter

Train and respond to structure, vehicle, and outdoor fires, vehicle, and specialized rescues, and other emergencies or calls for service and assistance.

  • Must be 18 years of age. (Unless applying for junior membership)
  • All applicants will receive a criminal background check.
  • No Experience is Necessary! (We hold a weekly drill every Tuesday, and the Fire Dept pays for outside fire classes.)

Active Member

The Broughton V.F.D. has a junior membership program to help get teenagers interested in today’s fire service. Junior members may participate in company drills, emergency calls, fundraisers, and much much more! The juniors are our future, in training. 

  • Must be 16 – 18 years of age. 
  • Must be able to obtain a work permit.
  • Must abide by State and Dept. Rules and Regulations.

Active Non Firefighter

If firefighting isn’t your calling but you still want to be apart of our team we are always looking for administrative help also! Most of the work running a Fire department now days are helping with all of the administrative work, like bingos, big events, drills, and etc.

  • FireVEST Scholarship with CCAC: Individuals enrolled in the program receive a full scholarship to any associate degree or certificate program at CCAC as well as the highest level of training at the Allegheny County Fire Academy in exchange for a five-year service commitment as a volunteer firefighter within Allegheny County.
